Invalid Mob is thinking of organizing a Halo CE tournament to celebrate our years spent in Halo PC scene and to properly march into the Halo 2 Vista.

Rules and prizes are still open. Please use this thread for suggestions! Here's some general stuff though:

1. All matches have to be recorded by everyone, unless no admins are present

Halo CE doesn't have any proper anticheat. In fact it has a lot of hax instead. We'll do up a guide how to record matches - most common way has been using Fraps or Gamecam, but you can use TV-cards, DVD-recorder, camcorder etc...

2. Tournament open for all (also USA), but matches will be played in European servers which we provide

3. Custom maps only

Please show your support and suggest rules, maps etc.!

- Sounds good, price would be something like free private server for a couple of months.

- I think cb rules are quite good, you can use those as an example.

- How big these games are going to be (3v3? 5v5?). Here's my suggestion: when bigger teams are playing, they should have more people playing (4v4 or something), while smaller clans (like ours) would mainly play games like 2vs2.

And btw: why these matches have to be played at eu servers? (why not one game at usa server and then another at euro one?)

This looks good to me and we just have to organise this well. I was thinking if we have clans from states versus european clans, we could force everyone to play against each others two times. You could have one game in your home server and one game in opponents server so it would be even.

I was thinking of 4vs4 games, a standard for Halo 2. Teams would be mostly custom I think, easy te get people like that. I'm not gonna watch CB rules, there will be maps were CB rules cannot be done. Some suggested even Haloball, which could be great! Very Happy Bloodgulch-rail is a must though as is H2 Warlock.

I'll look into the euro/usa thing.

I think guys from Israel would also participate the cup and they sure don't want to play in euro servers only. And even if the cup is supposed to be inspired by h2 the game is still hpc, so plz choose some maps where are also standard hpc weapons. If possible we could record these games and then, in the end release a little video of the highlight frags.

Well they can of course use their own server, we cannot provide one for Israel. I remember them saying it's not a problem to install CE. There will be of course maps which have standard weapons too, and mostly those I think. I haven't been following much the CE map developement, but I will Smile

Recording is compulsory if no admins are present. CE has a cool "sightjacker" app, admins can see and cycle through players 1st person view.

sounds cool, i'll have to get CE again and download some maps .

i guess this will be held after the halo 3v3 CB cup or what? cause i guess it will take most of people's time at the moment. anyway, could this be posted on CB forum or something. i dont know if e0 forum is enough to get people's attention :S

also i have no clue about h2CE maps so which ones should be choosen, and is our server already on CE, do we have server anymore? :S

i think we could ask some people to come play CE some time before the actual cup just to get some more people to join and have fun in CE. not much players in CE if any at all :l

I don't know when it will be held, it depends on few factors. Anyway, the tournament will be promoted worldwide, not just on e0 forums. I posted there just to see the opinion of the EU minority.

I don't see people starting to play CE for fun, I won't even try to do that anymore. My goal is not to make people to play CE, my goal is to organize a fun tournament with prizes, on CE. It's a kind of way to celebrate our Halo career and moving on towards H2V. As we provide the servers, Halo PC players will not be required to do anything else than DL CE and the maps if they do not have them yet.

I'd like to play for sure Razz We need admins and all kind of stuff. I'm starting negotiations with sponsorship for the tournament tomorrow, if all goes well - it'll be promoted in a large scale. Kind of a non-serious fun tournament, which of course will have rules.

I can switch our server to Halo CE. Maybe we could try-out something tomorrow? Meanwhile, dl the CE and install it Smile

I did a swap request from Halo PC to Halo CE for our server tonight. It's gonna be a public one with max. 10 players. I'll inform later about maps'n'stuff.

EDIT: Swap's been made :]

Hello all. I must say that this cup sounds like a great idea. I looked up some maps that could be great for classic CTF games. Mukelo you should check them out Smile.

portent
snipercanyonredux
concealed
quagmire
cliffhanger
fissurefall
anxiety
gallowspole
arctic_battleground
Camtrack-Arena_FX

and it would be great to see HV back! Wink

Aight will do. I remember cliffhanger to be partly "unfinished" and fissure fall, actually being a great map, a very hard for one who hasn't been playing it...

bloodgulch-rail TS is 100% sure to be included owned
