If you want to capture Xbox/console footage, I recommend iuVCR. It comes with a very good de-interlace filter, so that you don't get those vertical lines or ghosting to your movies. It also has a nice way of naming all the recorded stuff (date/time + filename, if I remember correctly, also configurable). Easy to use program really. Together with
M-JPEG codec, this is a very good package for recording.
